台灣缺水的年代，電視每天提供節約用水方法，鼓勵大家多喝西瓜汁，但每個人各有其求水之道。陳湘琪到處去撿空瓶子，偷公廁的水；拍AV片的男優李康生，半夜爬上大廈天台，尋找還有水的水塔洗頭，生活雖然艱苦，可是寂寞更加難耐！每個人都是一朵雲，在無言的天空，獨自飄零，彷彿永不相遇。一天，陳湘琪撿到一顆西瓜，並遇到李康生，他曾經賣過一隻手錶給她。她問他︰「你還在賣手錶嗎？」他卻無言以對，他在她住的大廈裡，幹著什麼樣的勾當……。兩人相愛不相知，壓抑不住的肉慾，最後以最原始、最赤裸的方式呈現！

Synopsis

A young woman named Shiang-Chyi (Chen Shiang-chyi) returns to Taipei from Paris, finding the promenade in front of the main railway station, where once she would meet the watch seller Hsiao-Kang (Lee Kang-sheng), has been demolished.

My frst movie of Director Tsai Ming Liang is " The Wayward Cloud ", after seeing that I'm totally attracted to his style. Although some people said " It's too much sex in the movie.", he just want to express original desire of human. We dont't have to hide our emotions. In the movie, he use some exaggerative songs and dance to express nobody's misery (a littlel like black comedy).

在吉隆坡街頭流浪的小康走進了拉旺和琪琪的生活中，情感、慾望、身體的野性開始流轉挑動，語言不通的小康就這麼周旋在拉旺和琪琪之間，兩男一女和一張破舊床褥，在氤氳的情慾煙霧裡糾纏、迷失、相濡以沫。蔡明亮首度於故鄉馬來西亞完成的作品，將吉隆坡的廢棄工地化為「魔笛」裡戀人們追逐愛情的水泥森林，超越了性別種族膚色，為莫札特的自由精神找到了新的定義。

Synopsis

Set in Kuala Lumpur. After Hsiao-kang is violently robbed, Rawang, a Bangladeshi worker takes him in and lets him sleep on his old mattress. When Chyi, a waitress, sees Hisao-kang, she is filled with sexual desires. As Hsiao-kang slowly recovers, he finds himself caught between Rawang and Chyi…
